Hopping Along Just Fine

I have had a busy month so far! I started a full time position that will go on until just about the end of the school year. The planning and marking keep me busy but I’m loving it so far! 

On top of work, we are in the middle of calving and I have been riding as much as I can. 

I’ve hit another jackpot the other weekend and then changed in the pickup as we drove to my hubby’s best friend’s wedding. 

The barrel racing went well despite JB being fresh in the Alberta wind and for a brand new (to her) arena that she’s never been in.

My hip didn’t appreciate dancing as much. The hubby and I danced to two songs while my hip twinged and whined. By the end of the night, I was leaning on whatever sturdy thing I could find, trying to relieve the pressure off my hip. This included walls, chairs, an occasional table and my husband. We looked like we were competing in a three-legged race, but I wanted to spend time with friends that I rarely see and celebrate a friend’s wedding. 

The next day, I paid for my over indulgance as I was stiff on the trip home from Medicine Hat. I rolled and stretched as soon as I got home and was recovered enough on Monday that I didn’t gimp on my first day at work. 

Since the wedding, my hip has been behaving, with only the occasional bout of stiffness but that is something I’ve come to expect.

Piyo Day 1

So I completed my first official Piyo workout tonight: “Define- Lower Body” and I loved this workout! It really worked my muscles but I wasn’t in pain while I was working out! The low impact moves packed a punch without making me want to cry. 

I’m not saying Piyo is the be-all, end-all but I’m excited to continue this workout plan. Yoga never made me this excited and I kinda hated the lack of movement. Piyo seems to combine the stretch with slight movements that challenge you.
